Go Back to Remembrances

To me, Frank was the happiest and most joyous person I have ever met throughout my entire life. I first met him at KCPR in 1970. He proved to be a man of many voices and multiple personalities, which you can sample in the Voices section of this website.

While Frank was serving in the US Navy, at one point he was at NAS Alameda while I was working at the Oakland Tribune in an intership. So somehow, we ended up being roommates in Berkeley at the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house, where I recorded and produced bootleg tapes of him channeling many people, real or imagined.

I subsequently shared other adventures with Frank and Pam, including one fatefully hilarious experiment in Los Angeles when they colored my hair and worked very hard to to introduce me to a (quote) nice Portuguese woman (enquote). You’ll have to wait for the movie version to learn how that one turned out.
